UPITA – A Dream Built on Concrete and Vision

UPITA began as a dream at Kyambogo University in Uganda, where three young men – two brothers, Peter Muwaga and Ken Kagombe, and their close friend, Mayega Frank – discovered a shared passion for entrepreneurship. Though they were all pursuing degrees in accounting and finance, their hearts were drawn to something far more tangible: the construction of lasting structures – buildings that would endure for generations.

They didn’t just dream of building with bricks and mortar; they envisioned building legacies. Quality. Strength. Sustainability. They wanted to create spaces that would become homes, businesses, and community landmarks – structures that would stand as testaments to hard work, integrity, and vision.

Rooted in Business and Real-Life Experience

Every great idea has deep roots. For Managing Director Mayega Frank, the journey began in childhood, under the mentorship of the renowned business magnate behind Makajo Investments. It was through this guidance that Frank was introduced to the world of construction – from materials and planning to negotiation, strategy, and leadership. These early experiences didn’t just shape his knowledge; they ignited a deep and lasting passion for the building industry.

Peter and Ken, the two brothers with strong backgrounds in finance and logistics, brought a complementary strength to the table. With a keen interest in earthworks and supply chain operations, they laid the groundwork for UPITA’s operational efficiency. They knew that every great building relies not only on a strong foundation but also on the seamless delivery of resources – and they set out to master both.
